Wheels of Death Screens

Our short film Wheels of Death was exhibited at the New York City Horror Film Festival on Friday the 20th of November at Tribeca Cinemas in Manhattan. The show sold out and we had a full house. The other shorts in our program included X-Mess Detritus, Death in Charge, Hunger, Sinkhole, Attackazoids, Deploy!! and afterwards the feature film Sweatshop screened.  Our film got plenty of laughs and we met some great people at the festival. We particularly enjoyed X-Mess Detritus, Death in Charge, and Sinkhole, which won the award for best short film. We also enjoyed Gigi Romero’s short film Together. We would like to thank festival director Michael Hein for being supportive of our film and giving us a great reception in the big apple! To read Mike Snoonian’s review of Wheels of Death on his blog All Things Horror.

Wheels of Death has gotten a few mentions in the Irish media of late.

Donald Clarke writes for the Irish Times

Bloodthirsty, viscerachewing congratulations go out to Dubliners Edward and Rob Kennedy, whose Wheels of Death horror short recently won the Killer Shorts Competition at the Monster Mania Convention in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. The flick thus becomes the first film ever to earn an advance slot in the line-up for the 2009 New York City Horror Film Festival.

And even the Irish Film and Television Network has found us newsworthy…

‘Wheels of Death’, the latest short film from Dublin based independent film company First Quarter Films (founded by Rob & Edward Kennedy, and Andrew Mahon), has won the first ever Killer Shorts Competition at the Monster Mania Convention held in Cherry Hill, New Jersey on August 23rd. An audience vote on a dozen entries resulted in ‘Wheels of Death’, by Irish directors Edward & Rob Kennedy, walking away with the prize.

Nothing major perhaps, but it has made our mothers proud.
